Digital Lesson Plan

This activity could be used in teaching a lesson about families and connections. I was going for the idea of a picture family tree, I did not have pictures of my family, so I used my friends. This activity requires the student to be able to paste pictures into a word document and manipulate them to positions on the paper. It also requires skills in layering pictures and text in Word. This activity utilizes many of the students computer skills and makes creating a family tree fun and creative.

Jenny,
I absolutely love this lesson plan. Not only is it great for teaching word processing skills but it also gives your students a chance for "show and tell". Maybe after they all create their family tree, they could possibly get to share it with another student or maybe even the whole class. Just an idea. Great job though!

Awesome idea! This would definitely keep the students interest much longer as opposed to just writing out a 'family tree' with the member names. The lessons they would learn not only about family members but about using word processing skills would probably just seem like play to them rather then work. Great way to make learning fun!

You had a great idea when you thought of the students making a family/friends tree. Just like ering said this is a great show and tell for students to get up and share. This was a fun idea!!

I thought your lesson plan was very cute. It will also be beneficial to the students by helping them learn about their family background. This could also spark ideas about their different cultural backgrounds. This will definitely help them with learning word processing skills, and I really thought it was well put together. Great job.

Jenny,
I think your lesson plan is a really great idea! It teaches the students about their peer's background and culture, while they are also learning computer skills at the same time! All students love to share about their home life, so this is a great lesson plan that all the students will love. It will allow them to become as creative as they can be! Great job Jenny, I might have to steal this idea when I have my own classroom!
